Once the questionnaire is completed, a preliminary phone call has been completed and we’ve established that we are the right fit the design consultation is the next step!
If you haven't filled-in our questionnaire please do so to start the process
See below on the how we work with you to have your dream space come true.
thoughtfulness
Envision it.
As part of the design process our 1-hour design consultation is an opportunity for you to speak in-depth about your space, the way you use it, and how great design can help you.
You can expect to feel inspired about the possibilities and a sense of direction even if you decide to go in another direction with your project.
expectations
expect it.
During our 2-hour consultation we will:
tour your space(s)
discussion on your needs + goals
review of your likes + dislikes
begin development of design concept
potential layouts + problem solvers
preparation
prepare for it.
No necessary but totally helpful would be to have images or even physical samples of things you love and would want to see in your space. These include but are not limited to images, swatches, fabrics and or products. Like almost everyone one; I work best with visual concepts, so showing me what you love AND hate and this will help me create the perfect space for you.
Tear-out pages, cut rooms and products from magazines that inspire you.
Create Pinterest “vision” boards for different rooms of your house and pin images as you find them. This will serve useful if our consultation involves various space that will each have its own unique identity.
Note: Not everything you will love while searching for inspiration. You will come across spaces, furniture and even colors you absolutely hate. Don’t hesitate to bring a couple of these images along with you to help me understand what you don’t want.
clarification
question it.
Even after you’ve filled out your questionnaire and we’ve had an initial consultation where I explained how the fee system works and the other aspects of the design process, there will likely be details that you’d like clarification on, as well as new questions that are nagging at you. Write them all down so you don’t forget any – I will be happy to answer them.
You will also be answering questions; how do you use your space, what are looking for, and what you’re comfortable with in terms of design.
There are no wrong answer or foolish questions. We both want your space to be better than what you envisioned!
trusting
trust it.
I know it can be bit unnerving to let a designer into your space, especially you feel intimidated by the prospect of a stranger into your home. It can also be difficult to yield creative control to someone else, especially you don’t fully understand much about design and construction.
I will walk you thru all the steps that will make the transition of giving yourself over to the design process easier. As the owner you will have total control over final decisions and updated every step of the way.
If you’re ready to make the step to a more functional and beautiful space, book a consultation with me.
